Do I have to have my eyes dilated?
Answer, If you are coming in for an annual exam or if this is a 6 month appointment, you will most likely need to be dilated so that Dr. Duzman evaluate your retina. Dilation of the eyes should not affect your distance vision. You will need to bring some sunglasses so that the bright sunlight will not bother you on your way home. Dilation of the pupils will last a few hours. Your near vision will be affected but you will be able to see well with your reading glasses. You may go back to work if you wish.
What is covered by my insurance?
Insurance coverage differs for for each person depending on your plan and your group. Dr. Duzman’s staff will make sure to inform you of your coverage to the best of their ability before any treatment is initiated.
Do I need a face mask?
Yes!
Is everyone in the office vaccinated?
Yes!
How long will my appointment take?
You appointment should take approximately one hour. This will vary with what Dr. Duzman needs to do and how many issues need to be addressed regarding your eye. Dr. Duzman will spend as much time as needed with you to address all of your questions. As such, on your appointment day, there may be patients who require more time because they may have more severe disease or have a lot of questions about their condition and treatment plan. This may lead to some wait time, but Dr. Duzman strongly feels that ea h patient deserves the time needed to answer all of their question!
What if my medication is not covered by my insurance?
Dr. Duzman will prescribe medications that are the standard of care for treatment of your condition. Unfortunately, not all medications are covered and this is an insurance issue, not a medical one. Naturally, Dr. Duzman prefers that you take the medications as prescribed without generic substitutions as often as possible.Dr. Duzman’s office staff is well rained to deal with this issue. Sometimes, all that is needed is a little leg work from you and /or Dr. Duzman’s office. We are very happy to help you. If you decide that a generic medication is what you prefer to take, Dr. Duzman will not be responsible as to the outcome of your condition. Dr. Duzman will carefully follow you for your condition and advise you as to any changes or worsening of your condition.
